From Light
to Function

Latin America and Europe in Conversation

An international workshop connecting photochemistry, photobiology, photosynthesis, photoactive materials and light-driven approaches for a healthier and more sustainable future.

Light as a common language

PhotoLAT-EU brings together researchers from Latin America and Europe to connect fundamental photochemistry with biological function, energy conversion, materials and emerging applications.

The workshop is designed as a compact, highly interactive meeting. Invited and plenary talks are complemented by young-researcher presentations, poster sessions and dedicated time for scientific discussion and new collaborations.

The final session, led by Silvia Braslavsky, connects the historical development of photochemistry and photobiology with the scientific themes developed throughout the workshop, followed by a round table and working lunch focused on future Latin America–Europe collaborations.
